Abstract
Prof. Dr. Greti Dinkova-Bruun will present, in the three weeks between May 5-23, 2014, a seminar series in Mediaeval Latin Palaeography (comprehending the study of Gothic and Humanistic Scripts after a rapid revision of the scripts that historically preceded them both). This seminar series was entitled "Seminar Series in Advanced Latin Palaeograph", because it will resume the introductory seminar series on Latin Palaeography delivered by Prof. Dr. Dinkova-Bruun at the USP in 2012, with the support of FAPESP (pr. 2011/20078-9). The new seminar series will have 9 sessions - 3 sessions each week (Mon-Wed-Fri) - each 4 hours long, with a 20 minutes break. During these 9 sessions, transcription homeworks will be assigned and corrected in class, 5 quizzes on the mediaeval systems of abbreviations will be done, there will be a final exam on identification, dating and transcription of the scripts studied scripts and also a final work on Late-Mediaeval Palaeography to be produced in group and orally presented in class. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Dinkova-Bruun may also participate in the activities of the São Paulo Center for Patristic and Mediaeval Studies (CEPAME), thus allowing for an occasion of individual discussions about the projects of the students. It is worth noting that the discussions about individual projects were some of the most fruitful occasions in her last visit to São Paulo. (AU)
