Abstract

The aim of this study is to better explain locomotor changes induced by toe or heel elevation of thoracic limbs of horses, as well as possible structures overloaded with these techniques. For this porpouse, eight Arabian horses without clinical and thermographic evidence of musculoeskeletal abnormalities will be used. All animals will perform exercise using flat and six degrees toe or elevation shoe. Kinematic evaluations will be realized at walk and trot and thermographic evaluations will be conducted, before, immediately after exercise and 15, 60 and 120 minutes after this. The data will be analyzed by ANOVA followed by Tukey test (p <0.05). (AU)
