Abstract

March 1 to April 30, 2015: Visit to the Experimental Petrology, FTIR in electron microprobe laboratories. Repeat measurements of water content in perlites and vitrophyres of the Paraná Province and comparison with results already obtained by DTA-TGA in Germany. Conferences and courses. 01 to 30 May 2015: Organization and execution of field activities for the determination of fractal dimensions outcrops in the region of São Marcos and Cambará do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, along with doctoral student Leticia Freitas Guimarães. Sample Preparation. Lectures at UFRGS and discussion with project participants in Porto Alegre. June 1 to July 30, 2015: Quantification of the structures measured in the field and numerical modeling results; training of students. Courses. Preparation of scientific publication in conjunction with other members of the project. 1 to August 31, 2015: Field work for completion and correction of data. Evaluation of results. Training of graduate students and researchers of the project. Preparation of scientific publication in conjunction with other members of the project. 1 to September 31, 2015: Final organizing and participation as a guide for field trip associated with the 8th Hutton Symposium on Granites and related rocks, to be held in Florianópolis, SC. Training of students and courses. Preparation of scientific publication in conjunction with other members of the project. October 1 to December 10, 2015: Numerical modeling of geochemical data from the literature in comparison with experimental data obtained in many other similar projects. Lectures and courses. Preparation of scientific publication in conjunction with other members of the project. December 11, 2015 to 10 January 2016: Preparation of scientific publication in conjunction with other members of the project. January 11 to February 28, 2016: preparation of experiments in chaotic dynamics. Preparation of homogenized glass from natural samples of the Paraná province. Assembly and execution of experiments. Monitoring and training of students. Lectures. Final discussion of preliminary results with project participants.
