Abstract

The project herein presented will promote the continous evolution of the USP telecommunication network so as to disponibilize an ubiquitous and pervasive structure to the final user. The purpose of this project is to ensure a good and comparable performance in quality for the USPnet inside any USP campuses, regardless of point of provisioning. It will allow, among other things, to extend its functionality to a network service layer, adherent to the concept of an internal computational Cloud. To give out this objective, the plan is divided into two related projects. The first subproject, called PROJETO DE CONECTIVIDADE DA USPNET COM A ANSP: RESILIÊNCIA DA USPNET aims to provide a second network point of concentration, to which all faculties will have connections and with outbound to Internet, opening up to the USP´s users community a new set of network services-dependent with maximum availability (lighting management, monitoring by cameras on campus, signage totems, energy management and water on campuses, etc.). Currently there is a single point of concentration network, hosted in the data center of the DTI, which receives all the physical interconnections of all campuses and units of USP and from it to the Internet, through the ANSP link. The existence of a single point of concentration represents a potential vulnerability undesirable and incompatible with parameter of network availability that is wanted for the USPnet. The existence of a second concentration point will allow to execute maneuvers or transfer the operation of the network, temporarily or permanently, transparently to the user, without interruption of network service for any unit of USP. The second project, called PROJETO DE HOSPEDAGEM DA INTERNUVEM, is directly connected to the first by the concept of inter-infrastructure cloud computing and aims to ensure the external hosting of InterNuvem USP, for the time required or until the conditions exist to perform this hosting internally. The InterNuvem USP, which began in 2013, has its core data storage and servers hosted in a data center located outside the premises of the USP, since there is not yet within the USP such a qualified data center infrastructure with the quality of service expected for a computational cloud. Ultimately, for the user of InterNuvem, a poor service of data center infrastructure can be perceived as a deficiency in the data network, reason why this project is part of this plan. (AU)
