Infra-structure design project to CEMICAMP - Center for Research in reproductive health of Campinas

Abstract

The proposed application presents CEMICAMP´s Institutional Infrastructure Technical Reserve regarding the resources got during 2013. This proposal consists of a plan for changing from analog to digital telephone wiring, to improve resources for data collection through telephone interviews. The phone interview has become an important means of research and has been its increasingly recommended use, and the Cemicamp has used this tool in part of the research that develops. However, to obtain reliable data, it is necessary to have an adequate system of telephony that ensures data quality. Our current phone system, however, is very obsolete, with over 30 years of use and very outdated technology. The phone lines are analog and always presents noises, bad sound quality, and sometimes do not work or presents a very unstable operation. Numerous calls for service are made, but the problem persists due to system conditions. These defects and instabilities behind in collecting data and / or impair the quality of data obtained through telephone interviews. For this reason we are proposing to change the system from analogical to digital system. The acquisition of this new cabling will solve this problem of infrastructure and bring more quality to our research. (AU)
