Abstract

Objective: Expected results. The Project is a continuation of what the main researcher has been undertaking for four years in a graduation and post graduation level at the Art Institute of UNESP. Along with educational artists who are involved with urban interventional practice in the city of São Paulo, the researcher has been developing an urban intervention modality as a teaching and learning practice where an exchange of knowledge between popular culture and university is the expected result. In 2013 and 2014 , the proponent along with a group of cooperative artists leave the state of São Paulo to give urban intervention workshops to students and teachers of the Federal University of Uberlândia (2014) and Federal University of Tocantins (2013). In doing so, they approached communities under risks of cultural erasure and performed intervention actions aiming to create a field for possible exchange of knowledge. In Uberlândia, they met members of Folia de Reis Pena Branca who are being evicted from their neighborhood, Patrimônio, due to real estate speculation and other capitalist monsters; the community visited in Palmas is nicknamed Os Canelas, named after the place where they used to live and had to leave to give passage to the waters of the dam that supplies the city nowadays. This relationship between USP and UFT led to a wish to continue a closer partnership which generated a proposal from DINTER which awaits appraisal of furtherance requested. The research of this project lies in the creation of a pedagogy that forms performing arts teachers where urban intervention works as a mediating action between proponents and people or groups who are beyond the learning environment. Theoretical bases pass by propositions of post-colonialist currents especially regarding the affirmation of multiculturalism; in the research methodology and learning field, it aims to approach lines of research that discuss education and field research methodology as experiences with no mediation. That is, where researchers must be in direct contact with subjects in fields of study. In the arts, the study focus on a reflection on contemporary arts affiliated with Brazilian Neo-Vanguards continuing the proposer's doctorate research. The project' actions here presented go beyond the university environment, and search for ways of cultural resistance (as we understand the function of arts nowadays) and, as individuals or groups differently from academic creative processes create in compartment. Thus, it is necessary an effective approach with those we want to make art. Therefore, the main actions of this academic proposal are the immersion of artist educators (academic) in Parties and a subsequent creation of urban intervention along with members of the communities. In order to close a broader sampling, we also included a similar action with the community of the Samba School Lavapés in the host city of the project, São Paulo. Summarizing: three short research stages will be carried out; two outside the State (Uberlândia and Palmas) and another in the city of São Paulo. The purpose of the field stages is to collect material for preparation of the proponent's Professorial work. The research is expected to happen in two years, 24 months. (AU)
