Abstract

The contacts with Prof. Dr Rui Pedro de Sousa Pereira Monteiro Julião began in 2009. On that occasion he was the Vice President of the Portuguese Geographic Institute, where I was in a technical visit during the post-doctoral stage developed at the Porto University, Portugal. Prof. Dr. Rui Pedro Julião is Professor and Researcher at the New University of Lisbon and has extensive experience in spatial data infrastructure area, mainly in geoportals development to management and provision of Geographic Data, having coordinated several projects in this field. The visit of Prof. Dr. Rui Pedro Julião will be of great value to the development of several projects that are underway and future projects that can be submitted to support agencies in Brazil and abroad.He readily agreed to the invitation to participate in the Research Group of Spatial Data Acquisition and Representation - GARDE, based in the Faculty of Science and Technology, Presidente Prudente UNESP - SP, duly registered within CNPq. In order to strengthen the partnership, he will work on a knowledge transfer basis in order to develop a prototype Geoportal for cadastral data that is being produced by ongoing projects, executed by members of the research group, mainly the project entitled "Using images obtained by model airplane for the cadastre in urban expansion area" (Case 2014/01841-1) funded by FAPESP. Also, he will participate in meetings with other group members aimed at increasing their knowledge for the preparation of new projects, within the field of web management and provision of geographical data. As a contribution to the Graduate Program in Cartographic Sciences, a course of 2 credits (30 hours) will be offered, with the title "Management and provision of spatial data with free software". In addition, a workshop will be organized in order to disseminate the results of the activities proposed in this scientific visit and promote the work and experiences in Cadastral Execution and Management, bringing together researchers, academics, businesses and local governments. This workshop will reach an audience beyond the on-site, in Brazil and abroad, since it will be broadcast via webinar. (AU)
