Abstract

Accidental and intentional injuries, particularly aggression, are important concerns in today's society and the most committed, regions are usually the head and neck. The bucomaxilofacias injuries are a relatively frequent occurrence in daily life skills performed by the medical and dental examiners. Objective is to conduct a survey of injuries that hit the maxillofacial complex. A descriptive study, in which approximately 15,000 reports issued by experts from the Institute of Forensic Medicine of a medium-sized municipality of SP that meets their population and supports 30 small municipalities in its region, will be analyzed in records pertaining to the years will be held 2011 to 2013. the study will be based on the following criteria: socio-demographic characteristics of periciado, reason for their occurrence and variables such as type and location of injury, etiology, affected region and additional observations in the tests that are relevant to the completion expert report. The data will be analyzed by ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis X². Correction (p) less than 0.05 index will be deemed to indicate significance. Search with the lifting of this research establish an epidemiology of injuries occurring in the maxillofacial region, due to its high incidence and diversity of facial injuries. The epidemiology of stroke is critical in developing strategies for more reliable assessments, control and prevention of such cases. (AU)
