Abstract

The Center for Research in Molecular Oncology (CPOM) is framed at the Institute of Education and Research of the Barretos Cancer Hospital, which in conjunction with other clinical departments and the Department of Clinical Research and Graduate Studies in Oncology, are the basic building blocks in the development of the future of medicine - personalized medicine - in oncology. Currently the CPOM has more than 80 members, including biologists, graduate students, doctoral, postdoctoral besides visiting researchers from other research institutions even other countries. The structure of the center was based on the latest global research centers, emphasizing the practicality of movement, ease of access to technological resources and the supervision of trained professionals. The complex and current infrastructure CPOM has cytogenetics laboratories, molecular genetics, and cell and molecular biology, being able to facilitate the development of different lines of research in molecular oncology. In order to have results with levels of excellence in research and can meet the labor demand of active researchers, it is essential to increase the center equipment park.The cell culture laboratory panel has a varied commercial tumor cell lines that are used for cytotoxic testing of novel compounds having antitumor action. Moreover, they are collected and processed daily, biopsy samples from the cancer surgery. Successful cultivation of these samples is dependent on the temperature control, CO2 and O2 done cell incubator. Today CPOM has only an incubator designed for this type of primary cultures of tumor tissues. Therefore, we need more an incubator so that we can enlarge the establishment of primary cell in CPOM. Request will be two computers with components will be available to researchers for the development of research projects and production database and data analysis, and enable the scientific literature search in databases, such as MedLine , SciELO and Lilacs. Will also be required two projectors for submitting projects to the researchers involved, meetings and video conferences with other research centers to discuss cases and results obtained in the laboratory by CPOM. For each computer required, whether to request a printer with professional scanner, totaling two, to be used by researchers, research coordinators and administrative of the Institute of Education and Research and the Research and Innovation Office. The aim is to draw up a digital archive of all documents related to the research projects of Pio XII Foundation with the possibility of easily print this information. (AU)
