Abstract
Guy D. Whitten is a recognized expert in the study of the impact of the economy on voting behavior and elections. He is also known for his important contributions to the development of political methdology and most specifically, the advances in the application of quantitative methods in political science. During his visit to USP, Guy Whitten will undertake several activities. Most of them will also be shared with researchers FGVSP, thus increasing the benefits of his visit beyond USP. The main benefit expected from the visit of Guy D. Whitten is the advancement in the application of economic voting models for the case of Brazil, a key objective of the project "The Impact of the Economy on the Vote: An analysis of Brazil." (AU)
