Abstract

Key initiatives for this project are: i) Deposition ages of sedimentary rocks; ii) Formation ages of ore deposits; and iii) Archean tectonics. In-situ U-Pb isotope analyses of zircon, monazite, and xenotime by SHRIMP geochronology have been successful in resolving the age of ore formation in Cu-Au and orogenic Au ore systems, banded ore formations, high-pressure metamorphic rocks, and the deposition age of sedimentary rocks. The proposal is of interest for an ongoing thematic project funded by FAPESP. (AU)
