Synergetic effects of carbon catalyst and ball milling on hydrogen storage properties of Mg-Al alloys

Abstract

Professor Saisamorn Niyomsoan will participate in meetings with researchers from our group, who are responsible for research activities on hydrogen storage materials, along with post-doctoral fellows and graduate students involved in this theme. The main objectives of these discussions are the joint assessment of the current situation of the group's research activities, which are mainly supported by FAPESP thematic project number 2013/05987-8, as well as the evaluation of the possibilities of cooperation in specific ongoing studies undertaken by our post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. A specific experimental program was scheduled to be conducted by Prof. Saisamorn Niyomsoan in collaboration with members of our group during his visit period in DEMa/UFSCar, and it refers to the approach of an alloy system still not explored in our team, Mg-Al, which has great potential for applications due to low weight and cost of raw materials, as well as high gravimetric hydrogen storage capacity.
