Adding sulphate and ascorbic acid in egg during the incubation phase and creation on bone development, growth performance and carcass yield of broiler chickens

Abstract

- Leg problems in broilers are common, caused by rapid weight gain, which is not accompanied by the development of the bone of birds. Nutritional alternatives as glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and vitamin C are enhancers to improvebone development of the poultry. The objective of this project is to evaluate the effectsof adding GAGs and vitamin C on bone development and parameters of incubation ofchicks after hatching and performance, carcass yield and parts and bone development ofbroiler chickens from 1 to 42 days old. The experiments will be conducted during theincubation phase and creation phase, where treatments will be administered via injectionin egg, for the incubation phase and in-feed to the stage of creation. For the stages ofincubation and breeding will be assessed: hatchability, weight loss, relative weight ofthe birds, biometry of organs, macroscopic cartilage ratings articular femoral andtibiotarsus and histological cartilage, bone densitometry and bone strength and mineralprofile bones, performance, carcass yield and parts and blood characteristics. Statisticalanalyzes of the data will be performed by using analysis of variance with the assistanceof the General Linear Model of the SAS (2002) and in case of statistical significance, regression models will be used: linear, quadratic, cubic and quantum, in order checkpolynomial effects as the levels of the supplement inclusion.
