Supporting the connectivity to the ANSP academic backbone

Abstract

In 2015 (to be implemented in 2016), the project aims to improve the connectivity of UFSCarNET with the deployment of new optical fibers that will improve resilience and fault-tolerance of the campus network to maintain connectivity supporting alternative paths in case of failure or breaking of fibers. Another goal is to improve connectivity between the private cloud (named Cloud@UFSCar) and the UFSCarNET network. In 2015, UFSCar started to implement a private cloud computing for research activities. The deployment is expected to be completed in mid-2016. One of the objectives of this project is to acquire new equipment (switches) that enable improved performance and fault tolerance in the flow of data entering or leaving the Cloud@UFSCar, improving performance and fault tolerance services offered by Cloud@UFSCar.
