Abstract

This research project aims to analyze the spatial relationship between tuberculosis mortality and social indicators in the municipalities of Ribeirão Preto - SP , Natal - RN, Sao Luis - MA , Manaus - AM and Londrina - PR . It is an ecological study in which the cases of deaths will be considered in urban areas of the municipalities of Ribeirão Preto, Natal, São Luís, Manaus e Londrina, which is available in the Mortality Information System. Initially it will be performed univariate analysis of demographic and operational variables of the investigated deaths. For the formulation of social indicators will be used the principal component analysis , and selected data of the weighting áreas of São Luís and the areas covered by the municipalities of Ribeirão Preto, Natal, Manaus e Londrina, and considering the Demographic Census 2010. It will use the Multiple linear regression , the least squares method and spatial regression for analysis of the spatial relationship of dependence between social indicators and death rates . The autocorrelation of multiple linear regression will be tested through Global Moran Test. Geocoding of deaths will be processed in TerraView version 4.2.2 , also being considered in the analysis Arcgis - version 10.1 software, Statistica version 12.0 , OpenGeoDa version 1.0. For the diagnosis of the better spatial regression model, it will be used the Lagrange Multiplier test. In all tests , it will set the significance level alpha of 5 % (p < 0.05). The study will be submitted to a Research Ethics Committee , according to the guidelines of the National Health Council Resolution 196/96. The results of this study could be helpful in advancing the knowledge that mortality from tuberculosis is a socially determined event, so the areas identified in the study should be prioritized in terms of investment in public policy and social protection.
