Abstract

During the stay in São Paulo, is expected to develop the research on the Jardim da Luz as a place of immigrant sociability in São Paulo at the First Republic. With this research, the visiting resercher is integrate the international project Idex ("Initiative d'excellence") "Du 'monde en miniature' au 'jardin planétaire': imaginer, vivre et (re)créer le jardin des mondes anciens à nos jours". Part of the time will be taken to finish an older project about japanese immigrants and their descendants in São Paulo during the Estado Novo. The scheduled lectures follow these specialty topics, between urban history and immigration history, themes that have affinity with the researcher in charge of the project (AU)
