Abstract

Objective: To characterize the grip from typical children aged 5-10 years. Methods: The project will be divided in 2 studies. Study 1) The first part healthy children aged between 5 and 10 years will be divided into six groups according to the age group. The subjects will be submitted to a single assessment to obtain anthropometry (height and body mass) and dynamometry (maximum grip-hand strength) data. Study 2) The second part of the sample will consist of participants randomly selected (draw) by study 1 and divided into six groups according to age group. The data related to the grip pattern will be measured by means of an apparatus, the format will be made similarly to a transparent glass. The subjects will bring the cup to the mouth. Outcomes expected: To characterize the hand-grip strength and to increase knowledge of the mechanisms related to modulation of grip during objects manipulation, thus allowing the identification of the motor disorders pathogenesis of children with developmental disorders without the values are underestimated by expected for their age.
