Defects and their features in semiconductor oxides films produced by spray-pyrolysis technique

Abstract

Our proposal is based on the investigation of wide bandgap semiconductors produced by spray-pyrolysis technique. Particularly, we focus in ZnO, CdO and CuO as well as their alloys. Due to the large bandgap, these systems have a technological appeal for light sources and optoelectronic devices. Our interest is to obtain the necessary defects-mediated conditions for optical transparency, electrical conductivity and photoconductivity to be applied in devices. In addition, metal transition doping is an interesting issue to investigate spintronics applications. Both interests are strongly dependent on structural defects, which can be managed during growth process as well as in post annealing. The defects engineering is the tool to develop some features as optical matching, photovoltaic response and photoconductivity. (AU)
