Abstract

This project will investigate the design, calibration and testing of an integrated simulator of a multi-robot-system comprised of a "smart airships" swarm interacting with robotic ground electrical vehicles for environmental monitoring and surveillance. Such multi-robot-system can be used in the future to address a number of major problems and challenges that affect millions of people in Brazil, UK and worldwide: fire/deforestation, disasters/search and rescue, monitoring of remote access areas, animal herding, agriculture applications, and overall surveillance. The multi-robot-system simulator proposed in this project is the first step towards integrating a robotic ground electrical vehicle (under development, e.g. VERDE project*) and a swarm of "smart airships" (e.g. DRONI project*).
