Abstract
This research aims at mapping and introduction of the Japanese-Londoner photographer Haruo Ohara work, providing support for an aesthetic understanding of his photographic eye. Methodologically, this work is bolstered by a bibliographic research of broad spectrum, whose main theoretical references are the classical studies of photography and the history of photography, including in Brazil. Theoretically still mobilizes phenomenology of contributions of Maurice Merleau-Ponty to a photographic collection approach. The corpus of the research involves the photographic collection of Haruo Ohara filed since 2008 by the Instituto Moreira Salles. (AU)
