Abstract

The objective of the project is to study experimentally electron transport in Dirac fermions based on HgTe well. The main goals of this research could be outlines as follows: 1. Zeroth Landau level quantum Hall State in single Dirac cone system. 2. Thermal conductivity and the thermopower of Dirac metals and fluids: the validity of Mott's formula and of the Wiedemann-Franz law. The present research project assumes development and implementation of new methods of studies of electron a thermal transport of Dirac fermions. The project is focused on the fundamental physics, so its primary goals are: search for new physical phenomena, extension of the knowledge in the field, and experimental verification of the existing theories. The practical benefits of the project depend on possible applications of quantum wells in thermopower generation. (AU)
