Abstract

Nowadays there are important initiatives that recognize the necessary improvements in wastewater treatment infrastructure, which emphasize the inalienable synergies between water and energy in the field of environmental sanitation. In this sense, new technologies for environmental bioremediation in obtaining biogas, biohydrogen and bioelectricity to obtain more efficient energy have been described in the literature. However, there is no clear evidence to show that these energy sources are being used, which represents major economic, social and ecological concerns. For example, when effluent agroindustrial processes use anaerobic treatment are found high water quality, but with a very high cost of electricity for aeration and drying the slurry. A very different situation is observed in Europe, where the development of renewable energy has been clearly oriented towards diversification of climate and energy policies. In the discussion of a more sustainable management of energy use in effluent decontamination system there must be a commitment to the improvement of renewable energy production. Analyzing this synergism between two major interlinked challenges, the search for new composite materials with physical and chemical properties capable of producing high performance electrodes to use in renewable energy devices and / or water cleaning processes can contribute significantly to a technological breakthrough world. Therefore, this project aims the production, characterization and application of carbonaceous polymeric, and semiconductor composite electrodes, by continuing the work already underway in Electrochemistry group and Carbonaceous Materials - LABEMAC / LAS / INPE. The three-phase composites will be studied from carbon fiber (CF), boron doped diamond micro / nanocrystalline (DDB and DNDB and / or modified with silver / copper - Ag / Cu), polyaniline (PANI), graphene (GR) , titanium dioxide (TiO2), and reticulated vitreous carbon (RVC). Specifically, the composite FC/DNDB/PANI, FC/GR/PANI, FC/DDB/TiO2, FC/GR/TiO2, CVR/DNDB/Ag e Ti/DNDN ou Ti/DDB will be used considering these electrodes applied to removal / detection of organic and inorganic reduction processes as well as in energy conversion devices (supercapacitors). These composites will be achieved by the CVD deposition techniques (Chemical Vapor Deposition -Movies DDB and DNDB), chemical (PANI, GR) and electrochemical techniques (electroplating GR, Ag and TiO2). In order to increase the scope and quality of these studies in LABEMAC group, FAPESP inputs has been of fundamental importance. Considering the available infrastructure equipment in our laboratories that will be described in the course of this project, the resources requested are to meet the demand in the acquisition of permanent material and consumption that meet the techniques associated with the development of the Project. Considering the great demand for equipment in the team, we objective primarily funds for the purchase of a dry chamber, a reactor of polymerization, a rotoevaporator, a xenon lamp for photoelectrochemical measurements, a water distillation system with deionizer, and a power supply for diamond growth reactor. Moreover, we are requesting financial support for consumables and / or services for the development of the proposed work. (AU)
