Abstract
The present work aims to the topological optimization application for elasticity problems in tridimensional field applied in the determination of strut-and-tie models in reinforcement concrete structures. In this context, it must be developed a numerical model which applies finite element analysis using 3D truss bars finite element where it must be incorporated geometrical and physical nonlinear formulation for better representation of the structure behavior. In order to propose an effective tool for developing strut-and-tie models, this work uses the technique in topology optimization called ESO - Evolutionary Structural Optimization. The method is based on the procedure of radical withdrawing of the inefficient elements at lower stress until it no longer has influence. The final optimal topology in strut-and-tie models must be presented, discussed and compared with each other when applied both linear and nonlinear analysis for solving classical examples in structural problems, as deep beams, pile caps or corbel joints.
