Abstract

This proposal will continue the research on environmental change and its impacts on human and mental health, which have been developed in recent years, coordinated by the responsible of this proposal, supported by FAPESP and CNPq (Scholarship Pq). From these studies it has been observed that several municipalities have undergone major environmental changes where environmental planning has not prioritized the sustainability of environmental resources and allowed the prevalence of an economic development model based on building mega technological projects in occupation areas of environmental conservation, housing construction in risk, and where the vulnerability of the population seems to be more evident, and subjected to social and technological risks. With further research, we can incorporate the concept of global environmental change, which has called attention systematically to climate changes as one of the significant consequences that have both global and local level. Thus, it is intended to research proposal to consolidate the framework of analysis, from the following guiding question: "how environmental changes impact the mental health of the population?". Therefore, three methodological strategies should be included in the period: 1. Continuity of international academic collaboration through intensive dialogue with researchers; 2. Continuity of collection and systematization of references in national and international databases and 3. Split and deepening of theoretical experience with the completion of the first stage of empirical research in the exporting axis (Rod Tamoios. - D. Pedro I) [FAPESP n. 2013 / 17173-5]. As a product of this research is intended to produce an in-depth reflection that may help to improve the understanding of this thematic area, and contribute to public policy; preparation of scientific articles and participation in international conferences.
