Abstract

With the progress of inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in different walks of life such as school, work, leisure, it is whether there was also greater social interaction of people with a recognized interest in collective and individual life satisfaction. This project aims to reapplication of research developed in Portugal by Professor Carlos Veloso da Veiga, published in the book Professional Inclusion and Quality of Life; therefore, your goals are similar to that research, and are the following: 1- check that young workers with intellectual disabilities were adequately prepared by educational institutions to work, considering were formed special institutions or the regular school and the socioeconomic status of their families; 2- they are well included in their jobs, considering their productivity and relationships with colleagues, bosses and clients; and 3 if, after employment, they could expand their circle of friends, their autonomy and consequent welfare. Will be interviewed 20 young workers with Down syndrome, aged between 20 and 35 years old, graduated from fundamental school at least, they are in the job for at least one year; these subjects indicate a work colleague, a friend, who together with their bosses at work, family and school counselor he graduated, will also be part of the sample. For two periods each of the young workers with intellectual disabilities will be observed, and this observation will be recorded on a routine Daily; and each of the above listed subjects will be interviewed through scripts with open questions. The theoretical reference is the Critical Theory of Society, especially the works of T.W. Adorno, Horkheimer M. and H. Marcuse. (AU)
