Multidisease preparedness in Australia and Brazil: learning about geopatial models and cost-effective actions

Abstract

The present project aims to establish an interdisciplinary approach between Geography and Public Health in order to understand health problems in Brazil and Australia. A robust environmental databases as an arsenal for analysis of Neglected Tropical Diseases will allow us to observe possible patterns of spatial distribution of diseases in these Countries. Given this condition, we chose the Research School of Population Health - Australian National University to study Geographic Information Systems, interventions for Public health personnel in multi disease' programs, such as Dengue, Chikungunya and Visceral and Cutaneous Leishmaniasis.
