Abstract

Cancer is considered a serious public health problem that affects millions of people worldwide with undesirable aggravating, particularly in the social and psychological spheres. With increasing incidence on disease in the population, greater investment in prevention, treatment, spending on health and research were established in Brazil. Thus, laws and health policies would act for the diagnosis and early treatment are carried out in a timely manner to control and even same cure the disease. In this sense, the National Congress concerned about the increase in chronic and degenerative diseases, including cancer, has developed public policies and laws aimed at priority seating at one time. However, progress in legislation often does not reflect the reality of assistance in health care, as much as the government does, there are still gaps to be filled, since access to diagnostic methods remains challenging. Thus, the government in 2012 enacted Law No. 12,732, called Law of sixty days, which states that the cancer patient has the right to start treatment within sixty days from the pathology report of diagnosis. Data from the Health Ministry show that 45% of cancer patients have the first visit at an advanced stage. Thus, this study aims to understand the experience of patients who arrive at the Clinical Hospital in Botucatu, according to the time and the route traveled by them in the pursuit of specialized service as well as health professionals involved in the decision-making process (doctors, nurses and social workers). This is a qualitative research on the experience of doctors, nurses and social workers, as well as users who belong to segments of the itinerary of the Unified Health System (SUS), from primary care to the specialized service for the fulfillment of law Sixty Days. Doctors, nurses and social workers will be contacted for interview in their municipalities, from patient information on treatment at the Hospital of Botucatu, and recognize the care network of the study area. This institution is part of the regional network of care for malignant neoplasms, serving 68 municipalities belonging to the Regional Health Division VI. The interviews will be recorded, transcribed and analyzed according to the methodological framework of phenomenology, with the support of Nudist-live software 11. The experience of the participants to the itinerary will be interpreted in the light of the theoretical framework Alfred Schutz and the Law Sixty Days. It is hoped that the results for public policies of health care for the person with cancer. (AU)
