Abstract

According to official data from the National Traffic Department (DENATRAN, 2016), in March 2016, the Brazilian fleet was more than 91 million vehicles, and the city of São Paulo accounted for 8.3% of this total. The growth of this number year by year, has provoked reflections on the availability of parking spaces in urban areas. The Company Traffic Engineering (CET, 2016), the city of São Paulo operates 39,249 vacancies in areas of paid paid parking, known as Blue Zone, which even added to the vacancies offered by private parking, have enormous difficulties to meet the demands of City. This scenario has led to an increase in the time spent by people looking for parking spaces, which negatively impacts their quality of life. The increase in vehicles of time also causes an increase in fuel consumption, which causes damage to the environment. Another problem concerns the payment of paid parking rates. The cards are sold only in some stations and often the driver can not go to the point of sale and end up using illegal vendors. Often these drivers are victims of scams, buying counterfeit cards. In view of these problems, the application of Internet of Things concept enables the development of technologies that facilitate the search for jobs and the payment of parking fees. Thus, this project proposes the development of hardware and software for real-time monitoring of the availability of jobs in Blue Zone areas and private parking. The project consists of a data collection system that receives parking sensor information installed in vacancies and an application through which it is possible to consult the vacancies available in the region of interest and subsequent payment of the fee by credit card. In the case of private car parks, the system will also allow to reserve places. It is important to note that the system is composed of three parts, parking sensors, the data concentrator with the internet connection and the software. In principle, any type of sensor can use the connectivity service available through the hubs, allowing other providers of solutions for intelligent cities use the connectivity service offered by Innowatt. These suppliers may develop temperature measurement sensors, humidity, air quality and the same network used by parking sensors to send their data to the Internet. All software and hardware, including data concentrators and parking sensors will be developed by Innowatt Development and Services Ltda. Allowing the nationalization of hardware technology to existing parking sensors in other countries. The development of this system will benefit the population that spend less time hanging out looking for jobs, improving their quality of life. Will benefit the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Enable the public to have a better control in the management of paid parking areas, allowing more accurate planning of public policies for urban mobility. And, ultimately, contribute to the development of national technology, mainly related hardware, helping the country to become the latest technology exporter. (AU)
