Abstract

INCT NANOFARMA represents an important strategy for association of skills already consolidated in the area of nanotechnology applied to medicine and cosmetics research groups from several universities in Brazil, which act in the development of projects related to obtaining nanocarriers for several molecules with biological activity, for their application in therapies where nanotechnology can add therapeutic values, advance the development of techniques and processes for the production, characterization and evaluation of these products, as well as the understanding of the chemical and biological aspects (mechanistic studies of the interaction of these systems with tissues / cells and toxicological) aspects involved in obtaining and using these medicines. The INCT NANOFARMA, with the proposal of an INCT focused the Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, in transdisciplinary aspect of the matter, will add even technical knowledge and expand the possibilities for innovation in technology parks aggregates with the universities and companies. The research and projects related to INCT NANOFARMA platforms will be developed to search for comprehension and understanding of the different aspects involved in the science of Nanotechnology based medicines. Researchers INCT NANOFARMA through its projects, staff and laboratories act in more specific way on a given platform but permeate other, showing the articulation of the group in the main research themes of this proposal. The INCT NANOFARMA has 49 researchers, involving 14 universities (USP SP and RP, UFRGS, UNICAMP, UFRJ, UFMG, UFPE, UFOP, UFSC, UNESP, UFSM, UFG, UNB, UNISO, UFPe), a foundation (FUNED) and has extensive coverage in the national territory, with the participation of 08 Brazilian states (SP, RS, RJ, MG, SC, DF, GO, PE). In this training, INCT NANOFARMA covers 04 regions of Brazil, namely southeast, northeast, midwest and south, which highlights the institutional and national coverage of the group. The INCT NANOFARMA also involves 07 foreign researchers of renowned expertise in the field of Nanomedicine. These researchers already have scientific interactions with INCT NANOFARMA, thus emphasizing the international scope and joints of groups internationally. Sum up to 08 staff consultants, and 05 abroad. All feature renowned recognition in the area of Nanotechnology in Brazil and abroad. The INCT NANOFARMA aims to advance the scientific and technological development in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, an area on the border of knowledge, aiming to enable technology platforms in two strategic areas (health and nanotechnology), to obtain innovative medicines for the business sector and the Company through transdisciplinary approach. Thus, the INCT NANOFARMA will contribute to solving national problems related to drug development. The rationale of the project will develop technological proposals based on therapeutic benefits that nanotechnology can offer drug administration. Within this context, the INCT NANOFARMA also aims to develop internationalization, knowledge transfer to the business sector (public and private) and community activities as well as acting as an articulator of research networks and nucleation of new groups in the area of basic medicines nanotechnology.
