Abstract

CENA / USP, Specialized Institute and Integration Organ of the University of São Paulo, currently has a body of 34 teachers hired in RDIDP, of which 8 are Professors (23.5%), 15 Associate Professors (44.1%) and 11 Professors Doctors (32.4%). Although CENA is classified as a Specialized Institute, the teaching activities (Undergraduate - ESALQ / USP courses and two CAPES Level 7 Postgraduate Programs), research (excellence) and extension, can perfectly qualify SCENE as a Full Unit of Teaching, Research and Extension. Thus, CENA's performance in scientific activities is striking, and in order for us to maintain and even increase this participation, it is fundamental to improve the infrastructure of the institution. In this way, continuing this initiative, it was decided at the second ordinary meeting of the Board of Directors of the Institution, held on May 16, 2017, that the resources from the 2017 Institutional Research Technical Reserve (generated in 2016), in the amount of R$ 15,658.00 (Fifteen thousand, six hundred and fifty-eight reais), should primarily support projects with the objective of expanding and optimizing the network infrastructure in the institution's buildings 02, 09 and 14. The aforementioned buildings now house 11 teaching and research laboratories at CENA, and have had their network infrastructure reformed for more than six years, a necessary extension and re-adaptation nowadays. The efforts of the CENA administration to maintain the best infrastructure conditions so that teachers, administrative technicians, postgraduate students, trainees, and other collaborators can develop quality and, in the best possible way, the University of São Paulo and CENA (Teaching, research and extension). In this way, seeking to further improve the infrastructure of research laboratories and other areas, and taking into account the guidelines of FAPESP for the use of the Institutional Technical Reserve, which is to support the collective Research Infrastructure that benefits projects of Researchers / Institutional Teachers is that the Deliberative Council approved the expansion of Network infrastructure (installation of points) in buildings 02, 09 and 14. Thus, to meet the need for improvements and expansion in the network infrastructure in the Institution, it is necessary to hire certified and specialized companies in this type of service. This will enable researchers and staff to perform their research, undergraduate and graduate education, extension, using this extension, providing eight (8) new work areas, where a telephone and a computer can be installed. Thus, the use of FAPESP's Institutional Technical Reserve for the expansion and optimization of network points in buildings 02, 09 and 14, notably involving 4 teachers, 8 technical-administrative staff and students of IC, MS, Dr and Post -Doctors. Thus, it would be extremely important and necessary, to provide adequate infrastructure for these professionals. It should be noted that the management practices developed by management, especially in relation to the Technical Section of Informatics, aim to meet the needs of hardware, software, data acquisition and instrumentation development, as well as valuable tools for the institution's staff and employees can always be at the forefront in projects involving research, teaching and extension. It should also be mentioned the availability and development of tools to assist in the execution of research projects, laboratory operations (network for medium and high complexity equipment), teaching and research, are of fundamental importance.
