Biomechanics and functional aspects of the musculoskeletal system of runners and of neuropathic diabetics: chronic effect of therapeutic exercises: methodological implementation and scientific cooperation

Abstract

During the 4-week stay in Sao Paulo at the Department of Physical Therapy, Speech and Occupational Therapy, School of Medicine, University of Sao Paulo, Dr. Claudia Giacomozzi will collaborate with Prof. Isabel Sacco by covering the following issues: 1) Steering Advisor of Clinical Trial (2015/14810-0) "Biomechanical and functional aspects of the musculoskeletal system of runners: chronic effects of therapeutic exercise and aging. 2) Discussion and interpretation of the outcomes and biomechanical parameters that will be evaluated in the randomized controlled trial of the Clinical Trial (FAPESP 2015/14810-0). 3) Collaboration in the co-orientation of doctoral students Alessandra Bento Matias (FAPESP Fellow) and Ulisses T. Taddei involved in the scientific project in question. 4) Steering advisor and co-orientation of students involved in the Randomized clinical Trial in LABIMPH related to the effect of therapeutic exercises for the foot and ankle in the prevention of complications in the diabetic foot. 5) Implementation of the integrated methodology of plantar pressure and kinematics in the new Labimph site. 6) Participation in Seminars on ongoing projects in LABIMPH and discussions of papers related to project themes. 8) Teaching a course at the FMUSP Rehabilitation Sciences Program "Integrated functional assessment of the biomechanical changes in the Diabetic foot: instrumentation, technical standards and methods" (1 credit - 15h); 9) Lecture on the preparation and publication of good manuscripts in good international journals for the same course public.
