Abstract

The Brazilian Mental Health Policy is community-based, strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC) - recent context of occupational therapy insertion, nationally and internationally. It demands changing the paradigm, for which human resources training are seen as a challenge. In order to overcome it, the bet relies on Permanent Education in Health, with collaborative and critical-reflexive formative practices, sustained on the analysis of experiences in its context, through reflection on practice, impelling professionals to evaluate their actions and redefine their meanings, as proposed by Community of Practice and Identity (CoP). This project will implement the fourth stage of an ongoing collaborative action research, in progress since 2013, organized in a CoP, with the participation of six occupational therapists working on PHC, from São Carlos, SP. The CoP operates in face-to-face meetings (18 to date), recorded in audio and transcripts, which enable continuous and collaborative data analysis (through non-dialectical tools, such as group chronicles) and thematic analysis, revealing meanings expressed in group conversations. The objectives of this research project are: to describe and evaluate the impact of participation on this project in mental health care actions; to describe and evaluate the formative-investigative process on a CoP; to deepen the results obtained discussions in an international perspective, in a Brazil-Canada partnership. This type of study adresses the need to investigate the production of occupational therapy interventions in Brazil, in order to construct dialogues with the international production, instead of its unidirectional consumption.
