Abstract
This research aims to answer the following problem: what conditions faced by football fans in Brazil were typified as social problems by the mass media and social movements of football fans during the period from 2013 to 2017 and what is the ideological potential of these typifications? In order to answer this question, I will articulate two theoretical fields: construction of social problems and ideology. In relation to the first field, I will adopt the constructionist perspective, which focuses on the process that leads, at certain moments, certain conditions to receive the status of social problems. In relation to the second field, I will adopt the concept of John B. Thompson, who understands that a discourse can be characterized as ideological when it establishes and sustains relations of domination. The methodology adopted will be the depth hermeneutics, structured in three stages: socio-historical analysis, formal or discursive analysis and interpretation /reinterpretation. In the first one, I will analyze the social and historical context of construction, transmission and reception of the social problems of Brazilian football. In the second, I will analyze the speeches published in Folha de S. Paulo and O Globo editorials and in manifestos by Anatorg and AGIR about these problems. And in the third, I will make a synthesis, by creative construction, of the previous analyzes. Among other reasons, this research relevance is due to the fact that it contributes to filling a gap in the academic literature. Besides that, it allows the problematization of the discourses of those who occupy positions of power in the construction of social problems, challenging its hierarchy of credibility. (AU)
