Abstract

From August/2003 to December/2005 the candidate developed a CNPq-PIBIC project on the gradient pattern analysis (GPA) of RR intervals in ECG signals during the rest and miofascial release (one of the techniques used in cardiac fisioterapy). From a complementary application of the Wavelets were characterized the scales of signal assimetries, determining the main sub-periods that answer for the complexity of the series and that are used to distinguish the effects from the given different techniques of cardiac fisioterapy. Due to the high sensitivity of the method, in this project we consider to apply the same technique for equivalent data measured in microgravity conditions. Experimental data will be supplied through the cooperation that the PUC-RS Laboratory of Microgravity keeps with NASA and ESA. The results of this project will be used in the validation of synthetic time series, generated from the solutions of the FitzHugh-Nagumo equation that has being studied, in the scientific computing group of LAC-INPE, as a possible model for ECG time series in different stimulaton conditions.
