Abstract

In Brazilian city halls, one will often find practically abandoned registration systems that contain an abundance of mistakes and are often void of any maintenance policy. Among the mistakes in the current registration models, there is one that needs innovation in the process of information acquisition. It is about defining the boundaries of properties that are not included in urban planning, properties like country houses used for recreation purposes and other unused plots of land within the urban area. With the aim of helping in this process of acquiring real-estate registration information related plot lay-outs, this project proposes to develop a method to collect registration information coming from high-resolution satellite pictures and the GPS of navigation receivers, thus improving the current registration status of these properties.
