Abstract This research project represents the continuation of a study regarding the fabrication and characterization of thalium bromide (TlBr) thin films. Theses films will be produced using two different techniques: spray pyrolysis and thermal evaporation. The influence of the main important deposition parameters on the final properties of the samples will be studied. We will focus on the structural, optical and electric properties of the material. The optimized films will be used for the fabrication of high energy radiation detectors, such as X-rays and γ –rays. The sensors could be used in the biomedical instrumentation, mainly focused on medical imaging in digital radiography. This project is original, given the fact that there is nothing similar being done in the country. The research will be developed at the Biosensors and Material Laboratory (a CNPq certified research group) at the DFM-FFCLRP-USP, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marcelo Mulato. | |
