Abstract

In this Master's dissertation project the candidate will develop a computer vision based three-dimensional gesture recognition system to be used in attentive interfaces. Attentive interfaces are capable of self configuring the interface, or applications, as well as take actions to facilitate the user's activities, without explicit user commands. Static and dynamic gestures will be recognized using a real-time stereo computer vision system, and will be integrated to a multimodal platform for testing the computer vision system for gesture based interfaces in an attentive environment.
