Abstract

This research aims at to study measures of risk for case-control studies, especially when the intention is a space analysis of these risks. Amongst the forms of attainment of the relations between the interest variables, it aims at to compare two classes of models – Generalized Linear Models (GLM) and Generalized Additive Models (GAM). Also they allow to extend the analyses of case-control studies when transforming a binary variable into multinomial (in the case, the gravity of the outcome will be considered). It also aims at to apply the studied methods to the data obtained by a hospital-based case-control study analyzing occupational accidents in the city of Piracicaba, and they association with covariates.
