Abstract

The children are more particularly vulnerable to the radiation-x exposition when compared with adult patients. However, in last the 15 years she was only given to a special attention the examinations carried through for paediatric considered age band. This was the excellent point to call the attention for this proposal of research, which has as objective the otimization of paediatric radiography images. To reach this objective it will be necessary the development and construction of homogenous phantom that they simulate characteristics of absorption and scattering of radiation next to the one chest of paediatrics patients, with age band of up to 1 year of age (just been born and suckling). In this study homogeneous phantom will have as objective the calibration of the system screen-film and later phantom will be associated to one phantom analytical realistic to quantify the quality of the image in order to get the best radiography images of chest for paediatric patient with doses as low as reasonable action.
