Doses, sources and way of zinc application in the sugarcane crop

Abstract

Brazil is the largest producer of sugar and alcohol of the world, and the sugarcane crop is in expansion, but many soils of the country are poor in zinc and this deficiency occasion serious physiologic disturbances in plants, which reflect in decrease of the productivity of crop. The present project has for objective to evaluate the effect of five doses of Zn (0; 2.5; 5.0; 7.5 and 10.0 kg ha-1, applied after the first cut) and three sources (zinc sulfate, zinc silicate and zinc quelate), applied to the soil, besides the leaf application using the two soluble sources; in two cuts, in the productive and qualitative characteristics of the sugarcane cropped in a loamy soil. The experiment will be conducted at Jangadeiro farm, of Destilaria Alcoolvale Açúcar and Alcool, in Aparecida do Taboado - MS. A complete randomized blocks design in a factorial scheme 5x3+2, being 5 doses of zinc, 3 sources of zinc, more 2 additional treatments with leaf spray, with 4 repetitions, will be used. The plot will be constituted by 5 lines of 10 m length and spaced by 1.4 m. It will be evaluated: sucrose content, fiber, purity, concentration of soluble solids, number of stems for meter, number of tillering per meter, tillering height, medium diameter of the stem, green mass of stem, mass dry of stem, productivity of stems and chemical analysis of the soil and leaf.
