Abstract

The vulvoperineal pain and discomfort caused by recurrent vulvovaginitis (VVR), vulvodynia (VVD), and vulvar vestibulitis (VVS) affects the social and sexual life of a large number of women, been consider great stress gynecological disorders with major psychological consequences. The involvement of the pelvic floor muscles in these pathologies, as an aggravating or as triggering agent, have been increasingly highlighted and questioned in studies. Objective: Verify the existence of any pelvic floor dysfunction in women with VVR or VVD or VVS. Subjects and methods: a non-interventional cutting study. Will be selected 96 women treated in the genital infections' Ambulatory of the FCM / Unicamp's Department of Tocoginecologia, 16 of them with VVR, 16 with VVD, 16 with VVS and 48 without these diseases. The evaluation of the pelvic floor muscles will be done by surface electromyographic [(s)EMG] and intra vaginal pressure, with the patients in gynecological and orthostatic posture in three events: the pelvic floor muscles relaxed, practicing contractions, and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles. To the collect, record and storage of datas and preliminary statistical analysis, the appliance Miotool 400 will be used altogether with its specific software, both developed by the company Miotec Equipment Biomédicos. Statistical analysis of the final data will be undertaken by ANOVA for repeated measures, in a significance level of 5%. It's expected to find these women that show perineal muscles' electrical potential and vaginal pressures much higher than the controls.
