Abstract

The main objective of this research is to study Gli Blas, journal founded by Álvaro Bolmicar and Alcebiades Dalmare on 1919, in the Rio de Janeiro. This publication was the main representative example of radical nationalism, what make Gil Blas an important source to understand the proposals embraced by Brazilian intellectuals during the 1920th. The journal circulated from 13 February 1918 until 8 April 1923, with 164 numbers published. Relating to the subjects, it must to be pointed out its diversity: sports, literature, questions related to workers, despite of the fact that, in the major cases, the focus was the nationalism xenophobe and extremist. Concerning the aspects theoretical and methodological, Gil Blas will be regarded, at the same time, as source and object of this research. (AU)
