Abstract

This project aims to investigate processes of teachers' continuing formation who teach Mathematics at primary grade classes of municipal basic schools entailed to UNDIME, Presidente Prudente and Presidente Epitácio poles. It is a qualitative and analytical-descriptive research and the subjects of this study are three cities, small, medium and big ones. The choice of these cities will be make according to the analysis of the results of Prova Brasil test, looking for the ones with similar performance. Teachers' necessities and difficulties about Mathematical concepts will be investigated through questionnaire, and municipal directors will be interviewed in order to verify how the processes of teachers' formation are developed at those cities. After that, actions of continuing formation that involve teachers will be attended. The data triangulation will be employed to investigate traces of possible contribution of such processes to the teachers' professional development. (AU)
