Abstract

Objectives: This study proposes to analyze the effects of functional training and hipopressive gymnastic on women with pelvic organ prolapse. Materials and Methods: Materials: Randomized, prospective and controllated clinical study. Sixty three premenopausal women with previous diagnostics of pelvic organ prolapse of posterior vaginal wall (rectocele) POP-Q stage I or II will be invited to participate in this study. Those who accept making part of this study will sign an agreement term. They will be randomically distributed into one of the three groups below: GI: Group of 21 women that undergone medical evaluation and do not suffer any interference during this research (control group). GII: Group of 21 women submitted to medical evaluation that will make the functional training in a group with physiotherapy professional supervision. GIII: Group of 21 patients submitted to medical evaluation that will make hipopressiva gymnastic in a group (maximum of 5 patients per group) under physiotherapy professional supervision. Method: The pacients will be, without exceptions, submitted to anamnesis analysis and gynecological exams by doctors. After that, they will be submitted to ultrasound scans to evaluate the pelvic floor anatomic aspects. By the same way, the volunteers will be submitted to physiotherapeutical evaluations, compounded by objective and subjective examinations. The subjective exams will be performed making use of the AFA and PERFECT scales, which are obtained through physical tests. By the other hand, the objective evaluations will consist of perineometry and electromyography measurements, using MIOTOOL 200 2 channels device, manufactured by Miotec (ANVISA register number 25352.103009/2007-97). During physiotherapeutic evaluation and on the 3nd, 6th and 12th month after evaluation day, the SF-36, PQOL and PISQ-12 forms will be applied to evaluate the patient quality of life, pelvic organ prolapse condition, and sexual function aspects, respectively. The subjective and objective evaluations will occur at the same periods. The ultrasound scans will be applied in medical evaluation period and on 3 th, 6th and 12th month after this day. The results obtained will be compared and confronted between the three groups.
