Abstract

This research aims to study the absorption and mobility of boron in three cultivars of cotton and also investigate the change in nonstructural carbohydrate concentration of leaves and flower buds. Experiments will be conducted using cultivars of cotton FMX 966, FMX FMT 701 and 993. The plants will be grown in boxes containing nutrient solution. In experiment 1 the cultivars of cotton receive different concentrations of boron, in order to determine the levels of this element in solution and in the plant, causing disability or phytotoxicity and also study the mobility of boron in the plant. In experiment 2 is to study the absorption and mobility of boron in cultivars of cotton, using the stable isotope 10B in sheet. In experiment 3, the cotton plants are subjected to treatments with and without boron in the nutrient solution to study the effects of B deficiency in the concentration of non-structural carbohydrates in the tissue of leaves and flower buds of cotton. In three experiments, the experimental design is randomized complete block with four replications.
