The Magic Mirror of Iranian cinema: an analysis of the performances of the non actors in the films of art

Abstract

This research considers to analyze the methods of interpretation of “non” actors of the Iranian films of art, as well as the different techniques of direction, proposals for consecrated directors as Abbas Kiarostami, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Jafar Panahi, Bahman Ghobadi and Majid Majidi, with a comparative analysis of films Close-up, Ten, Salam Cinema, The mirror, Turtles can fly and The color of the paradise. The Anthropology of the Performance, the Visual Anthropology and the theatrical methods are configured as base to understand the interpretation of the not professional actors as well as the current Iranian society and the relation between fiction and reality. To understand the filmography of the Iran is necessary to understand as the complex Iranian society is formed, its social dramas (motor force for the aesthetic dramas - in this in case the cinema and its actors), the Islamic religion and its rituals, that differentiate this type of language and interpretation. Each film goes to contribute for the quarrel of the image in the Islamic society and as the fiction film can be an instrument to think the Iranian society. The research is based on the analysis of the films, making offs of about cited works and in interviews with the directors and actors. (AU)
