Abstract

This research wants to show, in two Guimarães Rosa books - "Sagarana" and "Primeiras Estórias" - two different moments about spacial construction in mineiro backlands: its isolation and its processes of modernization, talking about particular characteristics of this backlands like a territorial reserve with own qualities, but ordered to changes because of strange interests, showing how the writer reveals this spacial metamorphosis in his fictions.
