Abstract

Gauge theories such as Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) exhibit the phenomenon of dynamical mass generation. Although much discussed in the literature for quark mass generation, this phenomenon is much less known regarding the gluons, but recent results on lattice QCD show that it might be held in Nature. The fact that the gluon has a dynamical mass introduces in the theory a natural infrared cutoff, which is being used by our working group in perturbative calculations up to tree level with very satisfactory results. This project aims to implement this type of procedure to the level of "loops", i.e. it is intended to work within an improved perturbation theory, introducing propagators and dressed vertex and using the "pinch" technique on an evolution of the dynamical perturbation theory proposed by Pagels and Stoker in the 1970s. A first application of this procedure will be made to the Bjorken sum rule.
