Abstract

The modulation of cosmic ray flux presents different timescales associated with the solar activity cycle and geomagnetic transient events. A detailed comparison with solar indices like sunspot number and mean solar disk magnetic field can bring information on the magnetic cycle of 22 years and new ideas about the current atypical minimum of solar activity. Cosmic Rays are known to be at the origin, or at least to drive and modify atmospheric phenomena on Earth. Cosmic Rays may be related to the formation of clouds, and can have an important role in the global electric circuit and its time evolution, making the overall study of these relations of great importance for a better understanding of Earths' climatic processes. On the other hand, precipitation of rain water and changes of the atmospheric electric field, phenomena associated with cloud formation and the behavior of the global electric circuit, may change the flux of observed cosmic rays. In this work we propose to study the modulation of cosmic ray flux in multiple times scales associated with solar and geomagnetic activities and to analyze the influence of precipitated rain and atmospheric electric field in the detected count of cosmic rays recorded by the detector CARPET.
