Abstract

The aim of this research project is the development of adsorbent materials based on mesoporous silica supports, organofuncionalized with different structural characteristics. Two substrates will be synthesized in order to obtain the silica with a disordered pore structure, randomly distributed throughout the inorganic network, and a second material consisting of highly ordered pores in the form of cylindrical channels, packed into hexagonal arrangement (SBA-15). The substrate surfaces will be functionalized by immobilization reactions of 4,4'bipyridine linked to an array of silsesquioxane, both monosubstituted, Si(CH2)3X+Cl-, and disubstituted forms[Si(CH2)3]2X2+(Cl-)2, (X = 4,4' bipiridina). The resulting material will be evaluated as ions adsorbents in ethanol, and it will be the basis for the interactions study of these systems. (AU)
